
Beef and Potato Stew
Tender beef simmered with diced potatoes, onions and pepper paste in a savoury broth.
Diced beef and potatoes are simmered in a pot with sautéed onion and Turkish pepper paste until tender. A hearty stew seasoned simply with salt and black pepper.

- 2½ glassesWater (200 ml each, 500 ml in total)

Steps
Cooking the Stew

For the beef and potato stew, place 400 g of cubed beef into a hot pot. Sauté over medium heat until the meat changes color and releases its juices.

Then add 2 Turkish water glasses of hot water and cook over low heat until the liquid is absorbed. Add 2.5 tablespoons of olive oil.

Finely chop 1 onion, add it to the pot, and sauté. Add 1 tablespoon of pepper paste and continue sautéing.

Dice 2 medium potatoes into cubes and add them to the pot.

Add enough hot water to cover and leave to cook. When almost cooked, add 2 teaspoons of salt and cook a little longer over medium heat.
Serving

Check that the potatoes are cooked and turn off the stove. Serve hot.
